IMSA’s WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will roll into Sebring new week with 43 entries spread across its Prototype, GT Le Mans, and GT Daytona classes.
Coming off a 20-strong Prototype field at the Rolex 24 At Daytona, a solid grid of 16 DPis and WEC P2s will lead the event. The two-car Jackie Chan DC Racing effort, United Autosports’ second car, and BAR1 Motorsports are the only entries missing from the Prototype entry list. The D3+Transformers team, which announced and cancelled its plans to race at Daytona in favor of starting its season at Sebring, is also absent from the list.
GTLM remains unchanged with its nine entries for works-affiliated entries for BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, and Porsche, and GTD, which hit a high of 21 cars at Daytona, will take the green flag with 18 GT3-based entries for the March 17 race.
The Daytona-winning GRT Grasser team is not on the Entry List with its pair of Lamborghinis, Manthey Racing is not listed with its Porsche, and Risi Competizione, which fielded a customer Ferrari at the Rolex 24, will concentrate in its GTLM effort for Sebring.
CJ Wilson Racing, which is scheduled to make its WeatherTech Championship debut using an Acura NSX GT3, brings the GTD the total to 18.
