Ricky Stenhouse Jr. paced the first and only Monster Energy Series practice Friday at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
The No.17 Ford ran a lap of 186.384mph with Kyle Larson winding up second fastest at 185.915mph. Darrell Wallace Jr. followed up his impressive finish in the Daytona 500 by winding up third on the board at 185.834mph.
Ty Dillon was fourth fastest at 185.648mph and Alex Bowman completed the top five at 185.294mph.
The rest of the top 10 were Denny Hamlin (185.201mph), Kevin Harvick (184.979mph), William Byron (184.665mph), Joey Logano (184.628mph), and Martin Truex Jr. (184.572mph). Defending race winner Brad Keselowski was 24th fastest at 182.693mph.
There were no incidents in the 1 hour, 20-minute session.
