Dr Wolfgang Ullrich appointed as Special Advisor to Le Mans

By

The Automobile Club de L’Ouest, organizers of the Le Mans 24 Hours, have appointed one of the endurance classic’s most successful team principals as a Special Advisor.

The recently retired Head of Audi Sport, Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich, will advise senior management, including ACO President Pierre Fillon, on a range of matters including fiscal, technical and marketing matters.

Ullrich stepped down at the end of 2017 after overseeing a restructuring of Audi Sport following the axing of the brand’s LMP1 endurance racing project at the end of 2016.

His stewardship of the sports car program had produced 13 Le Mans 24 Hours wins plus the 2012 and 2013 FIA WEC Manufacturers and drivers world championships as well as further title wins in Europe and North America.
