Bottas calls on fans for 2018 primary helmet design

A new year will bring a new look to Valtteri Bottas' 2018 helmet.

Entering his second season with Mercedes, Bottas and Mercedes have launched a fan design competition for the helmet Bottas will use in the majority of 2018 grands prix. Fans can submit their designs on the Mercedes-AMG F1 website for the next 10 days and Bottas will select the winner. The winner will also be given a replica of their helmet design.

Teammate Lewis Hamilton's 2017 helmet design came from graphic designer Rai Caldato of Caldato Design after the now four-time champion called for submissions through his website last January. The winning design tied in a tribute to Hamilton's hero, Ayrton Senna, his past championships and past helmets.
