Venturi Formula E has announced a partnership with Mercedes specialist and motosport technology company HWA AG for the fourth season of Formula E, which begins this weekend in Hong Kong. Best known for its work with Mercedes in DTM, HWA will provide technical support to the team throughout the season.
“My teams in Monaco, stronger than ever, are working hand in hand with HWA,” team president Gildo Pallanca Pastor said.
HWA, which spun off from AMG in 1998, develops components and builds sports cars for Mercedes-AMG and parent company Daimler. It has developed, manufactured and serviced racing engines for the F3 European Championship and the British Formula 3 Series since 2003.
“The car is performing better than last year,” driver Maro Engel said. “If we can avoid reliability issues, we’ll hopefully be capable of scoring points in every race. A podium would be great but the team would deserve to finally get that first win.”
