Blaney leads final Kansas practice

Ryan Blaney was fastest in final practice at Kansas with a lap of 182.057 mph. Behind Blaney were two fellow playoff drivers in Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick. Busch was second fastest at 181.843 mph while Harvick's fastest lap was 181.720 mph.

Completing the top five were Daniel Suarez at 181.665 mph and his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Matt Kenseth. Kenseth clocked in at 181.543 mph. As for Suarez, the No. 19 has shown impressive speed so far in the weekend, clocking in no worse than seventh fastest in each of the three practice sessions and qualifying sixth for Sunday's race

Clint Bowyer (181.452 mph), Erik Jones (181.421 mph), Kyle Larson (181.232 mph), Brad Keselowski (181.202 mph), and Jamie McMurray (181.184 mph) were the rest of the top 10.

Polesitter Martin Truex Jr. was 12th. The slowest of the playoff drivers was Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in 22nd.

The 50-minute session was incident free, aside from Stenhouse continuing his trend of brushing the wall at a playoff event.

Daniel Hemric, who completes for Richard Childress Racing in the Xfinity Series, spent time in the No. 27 Chevrolet during practice. Hemric will be on standby this weekend for Paul Menard, who is expecting the birth of his second child.
