TV Ratings: NASCAR Richmond
NASCAR's final round of "regular season" racing failed to boost its audience in its second week up against football.
Although its Saturday night race avoided conflicts with opening day for the NFL, the Monster Energy Cup Series round at Richmond on NBCSN still faced competition from big college football cames on the broadcast networks, headed by the Oklahoma/Ohio State match-up on ABC which scored a 4.65 rating and averaged 8.1 million viewers. The NASCAR race starting around the same time scored a 1.24 rating and averaged 2.1m viewers. That's down from a 1.52/2.7m in 2016, also on NBCSN.
The Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship on NBC peaked with a 0.38/560,000 for Saturday's race from Seattle.
