Bourdais leads wet Glen warm-up

The final session ahead of this afternoon's IndyCar Grand Prix at The Glen started off with a light drizzle and ended in full showers by the time the 30-minute warm-up was complete.

Dale Coyne Racing's Sebastien Bourdais led the field with a best lap of 1m45.9510s – a full 23.5 seconds off Saturday's pole set by Alexander Rossi in the dry – and was hoping for more of the wet stuff in a few hours.

"Oh, I wouldn't mind a little rain," said Bourdais, who starts ninth and excels in well conditions.

Helio Castroneves turned in the thid best lap of 1m46.04s in the Penske Chevy while Carlos Munoz continued his good weekend for AJ Foyt Racing with the fourth-fastest lap of 1m46.25s.

Teams are allowed five sets of rain tires and several drivers experienced graining on the rears while the track was drying before the skies opened up.
