Munoz unsure about his IndyCar future

Carlos Munoz isn't sure what his future holds in the Verizon IndyCar Series.

High hopes during an offseason move from Andretti Autosport to a new leadership role at A.J. Foyt Racing haven't gone according to plan, and with two races left to make a statement, the 25-year-old Colombian heads to Watkins Glen with a sense of urgency.

"Right now there's nothing signed yet for next year, and it's not like we're in a super hurry, but I don't really have a lot of options," he told RACER. "I think we're getting better, and hope for a good finish to the season because we are working hard."

in the sister Foyt entry, 2017's team-wide reboot hasn't inspired a feeling of security as the curtain draws closer at Sonoma Raceway.

Like Daly, Munoz also showed well at Gateway, and with five top 10s, he's been the most consistent performer within the program, but it could take a big result this weekend in New York or on Sept. 17 in California to erase any doubts about retaining his services.

"I want to do my best the last two races and see [what] my options [are] for 2018," he added. "It has been a hard year for everybody, a learning year with new drivers, new engineers, and I feel that we are starting to turn the page. My number one priority is to be with Foyt."
