Cindric to make Xfinity debut with Penske at Road America
Austin Cindric will make his Xfinity Series debut in the Team Penske No. 22 Ford next weekend at Road America, the teenager announced on social media.
"I'm excited to announce I'll be making my NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at Road America in the No. 22 Discount Tire Ford Mustang for Team Penske," Cindric, 18, said in a video on Twitter. "It's the biggest opportunity of my racing career and I'm really excited to get started at one of the best racetracks in the country, in my opinion.
"Should be a lot of fun, and should be exciting and hopefully I can pull it off."
So far in 2017, Cindric has three top-five finishes in 14 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races for Brad Keselowski Racing – and currently owns a streak of six straight top-10s – a pole in his lone ARCA race at O'Reilly Raceway Park and three races under his belt for Lexus' 3GT Racing team in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in GTD.
In 2016 he earned two NASCAR K&N Pro Series East wins, an ARCA victory and the GT pole for K-PAX Racing at Mid-Ohio and Sonoma in the Pirelli World Challenge.
