Rain wipes out Xfinity practice, CWTS qualifying

Despite daylong rain, NASCAR officials are optimistic that tonight's Camping World Truck Series Buckle Up in Your Truck 225 from Kentucky will go on as scheduled at 7:30 p.m. ET. Truck qualifying was washed out, with Johnny Sauter starting on the pole in a lineup set by the 2017 rulebook.

Three Xfinity Series practices were canceled despite efforts to dry the 1.5-mile track. A consolidated practice has been rescheduled for Friday at 8:30 to 9:55 a.m. The Alsco 300 is set fore Friday at 8 p.m. ET.

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will take to the track Friday morning for practice at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. ET, followed by Xfinity Series qualifying at 4:30 p.m. and Cup qualifying at 6:15 p.m. ET.

The Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts is Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. ET.
