Bergmeister withdraws from Watkins Glen

Sports car champion Jörg Bergmeister is a last-minute scratch for IMSA's Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen. The Park Place Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R driver will not compete in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship event due to a family emergency, according to team owner/driver Patrick Lindsey.

"We will certainly miss Jörg this weekend but no question about it, family comes first," Lindsey said. "The Bergmeisters are a wonderful family so I know there is no lack of support there. Jörg is with the people that matter most right now and we're hoping we hear good news from him this weekend. Vice versa, hopefully we can give him good news after the weekend."

Minus its third driver, Park Place will rely on Lindsey and Matt McMurry to pilot the No. 73 Porsche in the GT Daytona class. Bergmeister and Lindsey currently hold 10th in the GTD Drivers' championship with a best finish of fourth at Long Beach as their top result through five rounds.
