LM24: Toyota fastest in warm-up

Kazuki Nakajima topped the 45-minute warm-up session ahead of the Le Mans 24 Hours, with a 3m18.308s lap in the No. 8 Toyota TS050 HYBRID right at the end of the session.

Behind the No. 7 Toyota of Kamui Kobayashi ended up seconds, after a 3m18.661s which originally was good enough for the best time. The best of the Porsches was third – the No. 1 with a 3m20.120s.

In LMP2 the pole-sitting No. 26 G-Drive Racing ORECA turned the fastest morning lap, a 3m27.026s, over two seconds faster than the rest of the field.

Ford Ganassi USA led the way in GTE Pro, Scott Dixon managing to turn a 3m51.789s in the No. 69, while Andrea Bertolini in the No. 83 DH Racing Ferrari topped the times in GTE Am.

All 60 cars made it out for the morning session, crucially including the No. 33 Eurasia Motorsport Ligier JS P217, which completed 10 laps. The No. 33 is a new tub after its heavy impact during qualifying, the car rebuilt and re-scrutineered over the past two days.

There were three incidents of note. The No. 39 Graff Ligier, on its out-lap with Enzo Guibbert at the wheel, crawled with a lack of power back to the pits and didn't return. The Larbre Corvette had a spin at the Ford Chicanes. And the No. 17 IDEC Sport Ligier had an off at the Porsche Curves, nose-diving the barriers at the hands of Paul Lafargue. The nose was lightly damaged.

Next up for is the race proper at Le Mans, starting at 3:00 p.m. local.
