TV Ratings: Indy GP, Spain F1, NASCAR Kansas

The month of May got busier last weekend with Formula 1, IndyCar and NASCAR all in action, and the TV numbers yielded some promising news.

The Verizon IndyCar Series was back on broadcast network ABC for the GP of Indianapolis, with Saturday's telecast securing an 0.66 rating, averaging 969,000 households. That's up a tick from last year's 0.65/905,000, also on ABC.

F1's Spanish GP scored an 0.35 rating and averaged 557,000 household viewers early Sunday morning on NBCSN. That's also up from last year's 0.33/487,000.

NASCAR, as usual, had the biggest audience but it couldn't join the upside party. Its Monster Energy Cup Series race from Kansas on Saturday night scored a 1.55/2.6m viewers on FOX Sports 1. That's down from a 1.88/3.1m for this event last year, also on FS1, when it was run a week earlier. It's also the lowest rating for a Cup race this year.
