Zwart, Rothsport to race Porsche 964 in NORRA 1000 Off Road Race
Pikes Peak Hill Climb winner and RACER co-founder Jeff Zwart will team with Cameron Healey and Rothsport Racing to race a Porsche 964 Safari - not a car usually found on a racetrack - in the 50th anniversary National Off Road Racing Association's Mexican 1000 Off-Road Race. The stage rally format event is being held on the Baja Peninsula April 21-28 and is open to vintage off-road vehicles.
The team will run a set in the Vintage Production Car category, with Zwart and Healey in the Desert Flyer livery and Rothsport team owner Jeff Gamroth teaming with Rothsport car-prep specialist Carl Van Austen in red team decor. Rothsport is teaming with Richard Tuthill of the Tuthill Porsche Rally Team to prepare five air-cooled 911-based cars using Tuthill's technology and components and Rothsport's preparation and build quality.
After the race, the cars will be displayed at the Luftgekuhlt 4 car show in Los Angeles on May 7th.
