Suarez's crew chief Rogers on leave from JGR

Joe Gibbs Racing crew chief Dave Rogers is taking indefinite personal leave, the organization announced Wednesday night.

Rogers is the crew chief of the No. 19 ARRIS Toyota, driven by Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series rookie Daniel Suarez. As a full-time Cup crew chief with Joe Gibbs Racing since 2010, Rogers has 18 career wins and finished fourth in points with Carl Edwards last season.

Scott Graves will oversee Suarez's team this weekend at Martinsville Speedway for the STP 500.

It will be a familiar face for Suarez as he and Graves won the Xfinity Series championship together last season. Graves also won the title in 2015 with Chris Buescher at Roush Fenway Racing.

However, seeing as Graves currently works with the No. 18 Xfinity Series team for Joe Gibbs Racing (which is off this weekend), his replacement for beyond Martinsville will be named next week.

Through the season's first five races, Suarez has two top-10 finishes and sits 19th in points.
