TV Ratings: Australia F1, Auto Club NASCAR

Formula 1's traditional season open Down Under continues to give the series a difficult launch for U.S. audiences. NBCSN's live telecast of the Australian Grand Prix in the early morning hours of Sunday averaged 238,000 viewers (rating number was not available). Even so, that audience figure was actually up slightly over last year (0.21 rating, 222,000 viewers).

NASCAR's western swing concluded at Fontana, where the Monster Energy Cup Series race on FOX scored a 3.16 rating and averaged 5.2m viewers against competition from college basketball. Last year, this race scored a 4.0 and averaged 6.8m viewers

The Xfinity Series race Saturday at Fontana scored a 0.93 rating and averaged 1.5m viewers on FOX Sports 1. Following the trend for the series all year, that's basically identical to last year's numbers.

MotoGP's opener in Qatar averaged 32,000 viewers on the BEinSPORTS network.
