Molina joins Spirit of Race for WEC GT
Audi DTM ace Miguel Molina is set to compete with Thomas Flohr and Francesco Castellacci in the 2017 FIA WEC GTE Am class driving AF Corse-run team Spirit of Race's Ferrari 488 GTE.
Spanish-born Molina has raced with Audi in Germany's premier touring car championship since 2010, but moves over to race with AF Corse following a successful trial run with the Italian outfit in the shootout used to choose a replacement for Gianmaria Bruni's vacant GTE Pro FIA WEC seat.
Flohr and Castellacci were confirmed for the team prior to this week's driver announcement. The pair have stepped up to competing in the FIA WEC after racing in the European Le Mans Series-supporting Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup last year, as part of the series' inagural season in a 488 GT3.
The trio will be on hand in Monza this weekend for the FIA WEC Prologue test before the opening round of the season next month at Silverstone.
