Cadillac domination continues in Sebring FP3
Cadillac Daytona Prototype internationals swept the top three during the only night practice available to teams ahead of Saturday's Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. Action Express Racing's No. 31 Cadillac DPi-V.R was fastest (1m49.815s) followed by the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing entry (-0.257s) and the sister No. 5 AXR car (-0.354s). The trio of DPi-V.Rs also swept the top three in FP2.
Mazda posted its most competitive lap of the days to claim fourth with the No. 55 RT24-P (-0.669s) as its twin, the No. 70 Mazda, missed the session due to a cracked water pump. The Visit Florida Racing Riley/Multimatic Mk 30 WEC P2 completed the top five (-1.038s).
IMSA's GT Le Mans class saw Ford Chip Ganassi Racing fastest once again as the No. 66 Ford GT (1m57.116s) paced the No. 912 Porsche GT Team Porsche 911 RSR (-0.263s) and the No. 68 Ford GT (-0.687s).
GTLM provided some drama on pit lane as the No. 3 Corvette C7.R driven by Jan Magnussen experienced a small fire in the right-rear corner that was quickly extinguished by the Pratt & Miller team.
"They plugged in the fueler and got a little leak," said Corvette Racing crew chief Dan Binks. "Small fire on the right side and we just got the driver out to be careful. Unfortunate, but we'll be all right."
The Dane returned to the cockpit after a bit of cleanup to the car and finished the session.
