Tagliani to launch new NASCAR Canada effort
Former IndyCar racer Alex Tagliani is set unveil his new racecar this Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Toronto Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Show and introduce new sponsors joining EpiPen for the 2017 NASCAR Pinty's Series season.
"This is exciting news for Tagliani Autosport with 22 Racing and for NASCAR Canada," said Tagliani. "We worked hard during the off-season to secure new major partners, and generate customer engagement throughout the season. Their involvement will be an asset for the team, the series and the Canadian motorsport scene in general. We are thrilled to bring a car that people will cheer for. We know this will generate a lot attention for the upcoming NASCAR season."
Fans visiting the Toronto Motorama Show this Saturday are invited to attend the unveiling that will be held at the International Centre on Airport Road in Mississauga. The building is located across from Toronto Pearson International Airport. The presentation will take place in NASCAR Booth #2712 in Hall 2 of the show.
Last year, Tagliani concluded his bes season of competition in the NASCAR Pinty's Series, finishing third in the driver standings despite missing one event. The Canadian driver won three races for a total of five podiums in 11 starts.
The Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame driver has a career 45 NASCAR Pinty's Series starts. He has scored five wins, collected seven poles, 17 top-five and 28 top-10 finishes.
Thirteen races are on tap for the 2017 Pinty's season. Drivers will travel from Nova Scotia to Alberta, with a doubleheader stop in Saskatchewan, a Saturday round at the Toronto Indy in July, and will be running as the feature event at the Grand Prix of Trois-Rivières in mid-August.
