Daly joins Starworks for Rolex 24

Verizon IndyCar Series driver Conor Daly has been added to the Starworks Motorsport driver lineup in the No. 8 PC. The new A.J. Foyt Racing driver replaces Sebastian Saavedra.

Daly's availability came through a fun exchange on Tuesday while he was completing his first test for Foyt two hours south at Sebring International Raceway.

"I was sitting in my car – we were doing a shock change that was going to take a while – so I asked my crew guys to hand me my phone and I saw a bunch of missed texts and called from [Starworks owner] Peter Baron," Daly told RACER.

"So I texted him back with a selfie of me in the car and said I'd get back to him once I was done, and here I am. I was just talking to [Starworks teammate] Robert Wickens the other day and here he is in the other car."

Daly made his first Rolex 24 at Daytona start in 2014 with RSR Racing.

"It's my second time back so I'm really looking forward to it," he added. "It was totally unexpected."
