14 teams receive Le Mans entry invitations

The ACO has extended entry invitations to 14 teams as part of its initial outreach to assemble the field for June's 24 Hours of Le Mans. More teams, the specific number of entries given to each team, and a list of alternate entries is due to be released on Feb. 2.

The batch of 14 team invitations was triggered by automatic entries for class winners during the most recent running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and championship winners in a variety of domestic and international sports car championships that award invitations granted by the ACO.

The 14 teams, as documented by the ACO:

1. Porsche Team: victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours in the LM P1 category. Invitation in LM P1.
2. Signatech Alpine: victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours in the LM P2 category. Invitation in LM P2.
3. Ford Chip Ganassi Team USA: victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours in the LM GTE Pro category. Invitation in LM GTE Pro.
4. Scuderia Corsa: victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours in the LM GTE category. Invitation in LM GTE Am.
5. G Drive Racing: victory in the European Le Mans Series in the LM P2 category. Invitation in LM P2.
6. Aston Martin Racing: victory in the European Le Mans Series in the LM GTE category. Invitation in LM GTE Pro or Am.
7. JMW Motorsport: 2nd in the European Le Mans Series in the LM GTE category. Invitation in LM GTE Pro or Am.
8. United Autosports: victory in the European Le Mans Series in the LM P3 category. Invitation in LM P2.
9. Keating Motorsports: designated by IMSA for the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Invitation in LM P2.
