PRO MAZDA: Leading Edge announces 2017 plans

Leading Edge Grand Prix announced today that it will campaign two to three cars in the 2017 Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires. Leading Edge, previously known as ASR, is celebrating its 30th anniversary having been a race winning team in Indy Lights, American Le Mans and Trans-Am.

"We are excited about this season in Pro Mazda and being part of the Mazda Road to Indy ladder," said Leading Edge managing director John Lewis. "Pro Mazda provides without a doubt, the best bang for the buck of any junior open-wheel series in existence today. Where else can you win more than twice what it costs you to race? It's a pretty phenomenal deal. Dan Andersen and his team have done a tremendous job with the MRTI."

Leading Edge Grand Prix will be picking up its semi transporter and moving into its new shop in Brownsburg, Ind., in the next few weeks and hopes to make driver announcements along that timeline as well.

"Things were pretty quiet during the holidays, but we have been receiving several inquiries from drivers since the beginning of the New Year," said Lewis. "Now it's coming down to who we want to have on our driver roster."
