IMSA: WTR Cadillac leads damp Roar FP3

The remnants of morning showers and late-session rain ensured lap times were off during IMSA's first practice session on Saturday. Dark skies and the need for Continental rain tires meant the 1m38s from Friday swelled by almost 15 seconds as Ricky Taylor in the No. 10 Cadillac DPi-V.R led the field with a 1m51.854s tour of the 3.56-mile circuit.

Only four of the 12 Prototypes entered ventured out for the session, and the four were spread across 2.1s. A similar trend was seen in GT Le Mans where six cars hit the track and just two PCs turned laps.

The Michelin-shod No. 68 Ford Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT driven by Billy Johnson was fastest in GTLM (1m54.014s) and came within a few tenths of displacing the slowest Prototype. Trent Hindman led PC (1m57.107s) in the No. 26 BAR1 Motorsport entry (below) and Harald Proczyk sat atop 20 GT Daytona cars in his No. 59 Manthey Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R.

NEXT UP: FP4, 1:05 p.m. - 3:50 p.m. ET.
