FE: Sim racer Huis tops Vegas eRace practices
In the battle of sim vs. reality in Las Vegas, the virtual racers held the early advantage as Bono Huis, sim racer representing Faraday Future Dragon Racing, topped both practice sessions for today's Visa Vegas eRace, clocking a 1:28.142s lap around the 3.1-mile anti-clockwise virtual track (watch a lap of the track below) featuring 20 turns, incorporating the famous Las Vegas Strip. 20 Formula E drivers and 10 sim racers will battle it out for the biggest prize in eSports racing history, $1 million.
Huis lowered his previous best time from yesterday by three-tenths of a second, with Robin Frijns (Andretti Formula E) and Felix Rosenqvist a further half a second back to complete the top three places.
The inaugural Visa Vegas eRace is taking place today at The Venetian Hotel as part of Sports Business Innovation at 4:00 p.m E.T on the 50th edition of CES. To follow the Visa Vegas eRace live, visit www.twitch.tv/eleaguetv
