Special silent auction to benefit Wilson Children's Fund

A special silent auction is being held to benefit the Wilson Children's Fund, a fund set up to help the family of the late Justin Wilson.

Eight 16x20 prints of the start of the 2016 IndyCar race at Watkins Glen are available, signed by the 22 drivers who started the 2016 IndyCar season finale at Sonoma (seen in full, below), plus Rick Mears, Roger Penske, Mario Andretti and Dario Franchitti. Altogether, 17 Indy 500 victories arew represented among the driver autographs. The minimum bid per print is $500, and payment can be made directly through the PayPal link on the Wilson Children's Fund site.

Paul Zimmerman, owner of The Motorsport Collector memorabilia store and one of the event organizers, will cover the shipping costs for all eight prints; 100 percent of the auction proceeds will go to the WCF.

The silent auction is already underway and will continue through noon, Central Standard Time on Christmas Eve, December 24.

Special thanks to Andy Blackmore for layout and design and to Diana Rose Brennan and her Sonoma Raceway staff for getting the 22 drivers to sign each copy.
