F1 VIDEO: Jorge Lorenzo's Mercedes F1 test

Three-time MotoGP world champion Jorge Lorenzo recently tried a Formula 1 car for the first time when he tested Mercedes' 2014 title winner at Silverstone. Although no lap times were released, the team said Lorenzo's pace had been competitive.

Performance-aside, the run was an educational experience for Lorenzo.

"The speed is impressive, and the power on the straights is unbelievable," he said. "Even in the slower corners the grip is incredible.

"What looks like a fast corner on a bike, in reality is a slow corner in the car."
