MRTI: Series' slickest passers awarded

Felix Serralles, Will Owen and Parker Thompson received an additional boost to their 2017 race budgets when they were awarded the Royal Purple 'Slickest Pass' Award for their exploits in the Mazda Road to Indy this year.

The thee each received a check for $5000 for producing the best overtaking move of the year in their respective categories.

Serralles won the Indy Lights award as the result of a vote on Royal Purple's social media channels, while Owen (Pro Mazda) and Thompson (USF2000) had to submit videos of their best pass to Royal Purple in order to be considered.

"Very honored to win the Slickest Pass Award," said Thompson (ABOVE). "Big thanks as well...and my fans for choosing that video (of my pass)."

Royal Purple served as the official oil for the 2016 Mazda Road to Indy series.

"Mazda Road to Indy gives young riders and teams a variety of great opportunities to gain experience both on and off the track," said Debby Neubauer, Royal Purple's Vice President of Marketing.

"We are honored to be a part of the experience for the cars and the drivers while having the chance to watch each of the drivers grow their individual racing careers."
