MOTOGP: Iannone to miss San Marino Grand Prix

Ducati MotoGP rider Andrea Iannone has been ruled out of this weekend's San Marino Grand Prix.

Iannone crashed in first practice at Misano on Friday morning and fractured his T3 vertebra, and was originally deemed unfit for the weekend. However that position was revised to include more tests on Saturday morning, with the Italian keen to race.

He did not, though, pass further medical checks ahead of Saturday's third practice session and will take no further part in the weekend.

Andrea Dovizioso and test rider Michele Pirro will represent Ducati at its second home race.
