PRO MAZDA Owen, Telitz lead Friday activities at Monterey
Will Owen and championship leader Aaron Telitz split the two Friday practice sessions for the Pro Mazda triple-header finale at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
Owen took control of the morning session with a lap of 1m24.6770s as Jake Parsons (-0.2939) and Nicolas Dapero (-0.7309) completed the top three. Telitz and Team Pelfrey teammate "Pato" O'Ward, who are the only two drivers left with a shot at the title, were slightly off the pace.
O'Ward was fifth (-0.8914) and Telitz had a lot of work to do in seventh (-1.4331), but he responded as expected for the afternoon session by posting a 1m25.2311s lap to pace the field. Parsons was second (-0.1691) and Owen was third (-0.2218) as O'Ward struggled to do better than fifth (-0.5381).
