
INDYCAR: Bourdais to sign with Coyne for '17
The first big domino in the IndyCar Silly Season is about to topple.
RACER.com has learned that veteran Sebastien Bourdais is headed to Dale Coyne for the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season.

"I'm talking to a lot of people because Kevin (Kalkhoven) cannot tell me what the plan is for 2017," said Bourdais, who has spent the past three years with KVSH Racing and Chevrolet power where he's scored four victories. "Dale and I have been talking since January about what we could do but I have not signed anything."
Kalkhoven was not at Watkins Glen on Saturday but when asked if Bourdais had told him he was leaving for Coyne, co-owner Jimmy Vasser replied: "I know nothing."
Coyne, who gave Bourdais a ride in 2011 following his two-year stint in Formula One, simply said: "We're looking at all our options for next year."
The 37-year-old native of France who lives in St. Petersburg, Florida, won four consecutive Champ Car titles (2004-2007) for Newman/Haas Racing before moving to Toro Rosso in F1 for 2008 and 2009. He ran 10 IndyCar races for Coyne in 2011 before two seasons with Dragon Racing.
Honda is keen to add some seasoned winners to its roster, with Graham Rahal and rookie Alexander Rossi the only two victors in 14 races so far in 2016.
