HISTORICS: Late addition, booki signing schedule set for Lime Rock Historic Festival 34

Lime Rock Historic Festival 34 Honored Collector Wayne Carini is making a late addition to the field for this weekend's event. He's bringing the 1949 Buick Roadmaster Convertible from the movie "Rain Man" to display all four days of the Festival.

The car is owned by the film's director Barry Levinson; it was Carini who did a restoration on the car not long ago for the Oscar-winning director.

Gordon Kirby
Gordon is America's leading Indycar racing authority. He, and sometimes with co-authors, has written dozens of brilliant books on the subject including Jim McGee, Crew Chief of Champions; Second to One: All but for Indy; The Unser Legacy: Four Generations of Speed; and Mario Andretti: A Driving Passion. His latest tome, published just this month, is Penske's Maestro: Karl Kainhofer and the History of Penske Racing. Karl and Gordon are both here this weekend.

Burt "B.S." Levy
Burt is a prolific, very funny, very smart author who's written many great novels that car and racing fans have come to love, including: The 200mph Steamroller Book II: The Italian Job; The Last Open Road; The Fabulous Trashwagon; Toly's Ghost; Montezuma's Ferrari: And Other Adventures, and many, many more.

Sam Posey – Connecticut's resident Renaissance Man will be at Lime Rock Saturday with the last 15 copies of his latest book, Where the Writer Meets the Road. (FYI, David Bull Publishing is printing a second run of WTWMTR in October.)

This Year's Honored Collector, Wayne Carini, host of the very popular Chasing Classic Cars on Velocity Channel, has multiple autograph sessions scheduled, as do Honored Guests Peter Brock and John Morton, both of whom also authored well-received books during their storied careers.

Lime Rock Park's Historic Festival 34 runs Friday, September 2 through Labor Day Monday, September 5.
