Door Doctor driver delivers platinum performance

DANVILLE, VIRGINIA – Jesse Lazare proved he is fully focused on claiming the Platinum class and overall championship in the 2016 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA series by delivering a knockout blow to the competition this past weekend at VIRginia International Raceway.

The Canadian Kelly Moss Road and Race driver took poles for both races, and went on to dominate by claiming victory in both rounds.

"The Door Doctor car was perfect," Lazare said. "In the first race our 'race plan' called for a long green flag run, which sadly we didn't get. That made it tougher, but we were able to overcome that challenge," Lazare said of the changing conditions and a lengthy red flag that delayed the race.

On Sunday Lazare was able to show his true pace by dominating that round, winning by a 13-second margin. "Sunday went according to plan," he said. "It was great to win both rounds. It really helps in the championship."

Lazare now has a four-race winning streak and nine wins so far in the season. He has a 35 point lead but knows it is not over yet. "Until the championship is secured we have to keep pushing hard to win races," Lazare said. "We are in a good position right now, and I really want to win this for Door Doctor, Garaga and all our other sponsors. That is the goal we set with Kelly Moss, and we get closer every weekend."

Rounds 13 and 14 will take place on September 14 to 16 at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. Both races are 45 minutes each.
