FE: Stoneman to test with NextEV

Indy Lights race winner Dean Stoneman will make his Formula E testing debut with the NextEV team at Donington Park this week.

The Briton, who tested an IndyCar for the first time earlier this month, will drive the NextEV 700R on Thursday, the final day of the opening pre-season test. He will be taking the place of Oliver Turvey, who will run on Wednesday before leaving early to travel to the coming weekend's Super GT round at Suzuka.

Nelson Piquet Jr. will drive on Tuesday before Turvey takes over, but the Brazilian could run again on Thursday morning before Stoneman's debut.

"I'm really looking forward to my first time in a Formula E car," said Stoneman. "The opportunity with the NextEV Formula E Team is extremely exciting and I have been very impressed so far with their professional structure and ambitions going forward.

"The whole approach to driving these cars is completely different so I have been learning key areas like energy recovery so I can hit the ground running for this week's test."

The Jaguar Racing team is another fielding multiple drivers this week as it continues to evaluate its 2016/17 driver line-up.

Adam Carroll and Alex Lynn will drive today (Tuesday) though it is unknown how duties will be shared over the next two duties, with Mitch Evans and Harry Tincknell also due to run.
