INDYCAR: Mann back with Coyne at Pocono
Pippa Mann will return to the IndyCar field at Pocono this weekend in Dale Coyne Racing's No.19 entry.
It will be Mann's third visit to Pocono - the venue where she achieved a career-best result of 13th last year - and 15th IndyCar start overall. The Briton will carry a special Bryan Clauson decal on her helmet in tribute to her teammate from this year's Indy 500, who was killed in an accident two weeks ago. Clauson had been in the midst of an attempt to contest 200 races in a single season.
"The past week has been incredibly tough for everyone in the racing family, and I'm amongst those who have been feeling the loss of a friend, and a teammate," Mann said.
"When I heard from Dale (Coyne) last week that he had decided that I would drive the No.19 car this weekend, it meant so much to me, because it gives me the opportunity to be one of the drivers helping Bryan reach his 200 starts this year.
"I'm also adding an edited version of the 'BC Still Chasing 200' logo to my helmet for this weekend so I can carry him with me for the race. He told me this May he always wanted to run this race, so I hope between Conor [Daly] and I, he sees this as us making those starts for him."
Mann will be the fourth driver to have stepped into the No.19 this season, following on from Luca Filippi, Gabby Chaves and RC Enerson.
