MOTOGP: KTM launches program in Austria

KTM has taken the covers off the livery it will carry when it enters MotoGP in 2017.

The Austrian manufacturer has been testing its RC16 prototype since last November, when it turned its first laps at the Red Bull Ring.

On Saturday at the same track, during the Austrian Grand Prix weekend, it officially launched the program and the livery that mirrors its factory bikes in Moto3.

It will turn a handful of demonstration laps on Sunday, before the race.

KTM tested against its future MotoGP rivals at the Red Bull Ring last month, and was encouraged by where it finished on the timesheets.

Test rider and former Moto2 racer Mika Kallio will give the manufacturer an early race debut in November, running in the Valencia season finale.

Current Tech3 Yamaha pilots Bradley Smith and Pol Espargaro will race for KTM in 2017.
