CTSCC: Big hit opens Continental series practice
Three cars were involved in a big crash Friday morning at Road America during the opening practice session for IMSA's Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge. All drivers were unhurt in the Turn 11 pile-up.
According to IMSA, the No. 56 Murillo Racing Porsche Cayman driven by Jeff Mosing crashed and rebounded toward the track, which then brought the sister No. 65 Murillio Racing BMW 328i shared by Brent Mosing and Tim Probert and the No. 81 BimmerWorld BMW 328i shared by Kyle Tilley and Jerry Kaufman into the accident.
The Nos. 56 and 81 are said to be done for the weekend, and the No. 65 will be taken to a local frame shop to attempt to straighten the twisted chassis.
With its No. 56 drivers presently holding third in the Street Tuner championship, Murillo Racing expressed its intent to move Jeff Mosing and co-driver Eric Foss over to Alara Racing's unused No. 34 Mazda MX-5 to continue competing and earning points this weekend.
