"This is an exciting announcement for our team," noted team owner, Brian Alder. "We've put a lot of work into making this happen. Bruno's record in the PC cars speaks for itself. It's especially his qualifying statistics that caught our eye. The feedback he and Johnny can provide will be extremely valuable to our setups. "Matt McMurry has exceeded the team's expectations this season. Given his outstanding performances lately, the team anticipates he'll pair up well with Bruno."

"We made great strides in Lime Rock," Alder continued. "We've been struggling of late, but everyone is looking forward to building and moving forward. Having two cars will certainly change the dynamics, but in the end, it's more usable data and twice the opportunity to get to the front. With Johnny and Bruno leading the charge, we're on track to get it done."

"We owe a lot to our partners for their help in making this happen," said Alder. "Southwest Funding and Top 1 Oil have been there with us over the last two seasons and Gas Monkey Energy has been a great addition to the team generating a lot of fan excitement. All of this is injecting a lot of enthusiasm with the entire BAR1 team. It's a great opportunity."

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will head to Road America for the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase to run Aug. 5-7.
