MOTOGP: Ducati's Iannone tops test, Stoner third

Andrea Iannone led Andrea Dovizioso and Casey Stoner in a Ducati 1-2-3 as the marque dominated the second day of MotoGP testing at the Red Bull Ring.
The majority of the field took part in a two-day test at the Austrian Formula 1 venue on Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of grand prix motorcycle racing's first event at the track since 1997 next month. Dovizioso declared after topping day one that the Ducati seemed very well suited to the venue, and the team underlined that form on Wednesday.
Iannone went fastest in the morning session with a 1m23.719s lap, 0.079 seconds ahead of Dovizioso. Stoner was one of several riders to take a turn in first place during the afternoon, but it was Iannone who ended up in front again with a blistering 1m23.240s effort in the closing stages. That put him 0.4s clear of Dovizioso, with Stoner a further two tenths back in third.
Hector Barbera completed an all-Ducati top four on his satellite Avintia machine, while Aspar man Yonny Hernandez had placed his Desmosedici third behind Iannone and Dovizioso in the morning.
The works Honda team, which ran roadgoing machinery in a promotional event at the track last month, was among the absentees, leaving Yamaha to challenge Ducati. Jorge Lorenzo was fourth in the morning, with teammate Valentino Rossi the best non-Ducati in fifth later on.
COMBINED WEDNESDAY TIMES:
* Aprilia also ran at the test, but did not have timing transponders fitted
