HISTORICS: HMSR/HSR Mont-Tremblant Rewind

Historic SportsCar Racing, Ltd. took part in the 12th running of the great Canadian historic race, Les Sommet Des Legendes, at Mont-Tremblant last weekend with with the Historic Motor Sports Association. Many HSR regulars made the journey north to participate and the results sheets show very strong showings by HSR drivers.

In the enduro 17 of the 20 entrants hold HSR licenses. Top 3 overall were John Reisman in his 2009 Corvette DP, John Harold in the 1978 Chevron B23/31 while third overall went to local driver Henri Sicotte with his 2010 Camaro GTR. The second round of the 50th Anniversary of Can Am also took place and this was significant as the first Can Am race was held at Mont Tremblant in 1966. (The cars pictured above all participated in that inaugural race.)

Damp weather diminished the field for the feature race (not much fun racing a Can-Am car in the wet!); however, Jim Freeman in his Matich supported by SASCO Sports went on to take the win.

"Working with HMSA was a breeze," said Sara Councilor, HSR Event Manager. "The two entities and the philosophies behind them are very similar so the event was smooth and both competitor bases seemed to really enjoy seeing the different cars.

"Those traveling from the USA all commented about how smooth the border crossing was for them. Of course, everyone raved about the food and the atmosphere Mont Tremblant provides."
