
IMSA: Weather hits CTMP in FP2
Friday's second and final practice session for IMSA's WeatherTech Sports Car Championship event at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park read like a repeat of the first as Wayne Taylor Racing's Jordan Taylor was fastest while dealing with intermittent rain.
Taylor (below) posted a lap of 1:11.206 in the No. 10 Corvette DP – nearly identical to the lap produced in the morning – and were followed by the Action Express Racing Corvettes, with the No. 5 (-0.139) leading the No. 31 (-0.277).

After skipping most of the first session, Starworks Motorsport's Renger van der Zande topped the PC class with a 1:12.131 in their No. 8 entry. The No. 54 CORE autosport car (-0.647) and the No. 20 BAR1 Motorsport PC (-1.144) completed the top three.
BMW led GTLM with the No. 25 BMW Team RLL M6 while the sister No. 100 M6 brought out the red flag flew with four minutes left in the session when the left-rear wheel divorced John Edwards. The twin-turbo V8 sedan had just left the pits after a tire change, and the driver and car should be ready in plenty of time for Saturday morning.
The 1:15.961 produced in the No. 25 by Bill Auberlen (top) displaced the No. 4 Corvette C7.R (-0.171) and the No. 67 Ford GT (-0.400).
Like WTR in Prototype, Magnus Racing held onto the lead in GT Daytona as Andy Lally recorded a 1:17.702 in No. 44 Audi R8 LMS GT3. Lally's friend Spencer Pumpelly was second in the No. 16 Change Racing Lamborghini Huracán (-0.709), and the Riley Technologies Dodge Viper GT3-R was third (-0.776).
