PWC: New Acura NSX GT3 breaks cover in testing

Acura posted four photos of its new NSX GT3 on Thursday that appear to have been taken at its TRC test track in Ohio.

As Honda Performance Development vice president Steve Eriksen told RACER last week, no decision has been made on where the twin-turbo V6-powered car will make its race debut, but it would not be a surprise to see the new-for-2017 model compete in both the Pirelli World Challenge series and IMSA's WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

RACER confirmed the NSX GT3, which would run in PWC's GT class and IMSA's GT Daytona category, has tested at least twice in North America, and three drivers have taken turns in assisting HPD with the development process. The car is also known to have tested on the tires used in one of the two series where it is expected to land, and it's possible the tires required in the other series have also been on the car.
