While the action on the track for the Rolex 24 is intense with non-stop sports car racing, there’s plenty for guests to do off the track with a massive driver autograph session, the wine and cheese tasting, the DAYTONA 5K and a carnival atmosphere. And guests can enjoy all the first-class amenities in the world’s only motorsports stadium including wider and more comfortable seats, spacious concourses, escalators and elevators and unparalleled sightlines of the facility.
The 2016 edition of the Rolex 24 At Daytona, the first event in the new motorsports stadium, produced another thrilling finish with Tequila Patrón ESM Racing and the No. 2 Honda Ligier JS P2 entry bringing home the overall victory by holding off the No. 10 Corvette DP of Wayne Taylor Racing. Over the 24 hour-span of the race, the top-three finishing teams completed 736 laps around the 3.56-mile DIS road course – a total of 2,620.16 miles.
Also available for purchase is the Speedway’s first official event for the year, the Roar Before The Rolex 24 and Scout Days on Jan. 6-8, the critical three-day test session for the IMSA Weather Tech SportsCar Championship and Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge teams. During the test, the Speedway will continue the tradition of hosting Scout Days, a unique event that features hundreds of scouts from across Florida camping in the infield and enjoying activities such as fishing in Lake Lloyd, scavenger hunts, tours and viewing all the testing action.
