INDY 500: Rich video history

Among all the history and memory made at the Indy 500 each year, the great race was also a prolific generator of video content. Whether it was videos from IMS Productions, or special features made by independent production houses, the 500, its stars, annual racing reviews, and trips down memory lane were packaged into videotapes that emerged on a regular basis.

Fewer features have hit the shelves over the last decade, but the Speedway still manages to drop new DVDs on occasion. And thanks to some of the independents, archival footage of past Indy 500s hit the market when May arrives.

A quick visit to the IMS gift shop, or eBay, will return a treasure trove of Indy videos, and with the 100th running upon us, here's a look at just a few of the goodies to grab and enjoy:
