TV Ratings: Indy GP, Spanish GP, Dover NASCAR

The return of the Verizon IndyCar Series to broadcast network TV with the GP of Indianapolis scored a 0.97 rating on ABC Saturday afternoon. That is up from a 0.7 for last year's race, also on ABC.

NASCAR had an unusual weekend with Sprint Cup on FOX Sports 1 and the Xfinity Series on FOX. The Cup race on Sunday scored a 2.22 overnight rating, averaging an estimated 3.99 million viewers, while the XFS scored a 1.05 overnight. The previous week's Cup race from Kansas on a Saturday night scored a 1.8 rating.

The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, enjoying a lead-in from NASCAR's Cup race for final eliminations at Atlanta on FS1, averaged 1.37 million viewers,

Formula 1's Spanish GP scored a 0.44 rating on NBCSN, averaging 487,000 viewers.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series averaged 519,000 viewers on FS1 Friday night.
