MOTOGP: KTM adds Abraham to its test line-up

Czech rider Karel Abraham has joined KTM's line-up of test riders as it prepares to enter MotoGP in 2017.
Abraham joined the Austrian manufacturer for its latest test at Misano on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, which followed a weather-affected session at Brno last week. He joined Mika Kallio during the test, while Randy de Puniet, Alex Hofmann and Thomas Luthi have also worked on the RC16 prototype in recent months.
Abraham has 67 MotoGP starts to his name between 2011 and last season, missing the end of his '15 AB Racing campaign due to an ongoing foot injury. The 26-year-old has since moved to the World Superbike Championship, and sits 17th in the points on a BMW.
"The motorcycle already rides very well and I hadn't actually expected it would be at this level," Abraham said. "The engine feels strong and the electronics already work quite well.
"The three days on the bike were a fantastic experience for me and I really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to the next round of tests with the bike."
KTM has already signed Tech3 Yamaha's Bradley Smith as one of its 2017 race riders.
