INDYCAR: Mann confirmed for Indy 500
For a fourth consecutive year, Pippa Mann is returning to Dale Coyne Racing as part of the team's effort at this year's Indianpolis 500, where she will drive the No.63 entry.
“I’m so happy to be confirmed for the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 with Dale Coyne Racing," she said.
"I fell in love with the Indy 500 when I saw it live for the first time in 2009, and it's always such a special event to be part of. Dale Coyne Racing has been my home now for the past three seasons at this race, and I am so thankful for the support and opportunities I have had with Dale and Gail's team.”
Mann will be reunited with engineer Rob Ridgely, who prepared her car for her five starts with Coyne last season, and said that she hopes that their familiarity will help overcome her lack of track time in 2016.
"I think the continuity of having worked together last year will really help us conquer some of the learning curve that comes from being a one-off entry," she said. "Working together, we finished both of the other 500 mile races in the top 15 last year, so it would be nice to try and continue, or improve, upon that trend this May at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway."
Mann finished 22nd in last year's Indianapolis 500 after starting 25th. Her best Indy 500 result came in 2011 with a 20th place finish. The Brit will again be promoting her Pink #GetInvolved campaign, which raises funds for Susan G. Komen.
