The DEKRA Green Award-A Race within the Race!

The race for the cleanest, fastest and most efficient GTLM car will continue on March 19th, 2016 at Sebring Raceway in Florida. At the Rolex 24, the Corvette Racing Team dominated the DEKRA Green Award with a first place finish for the No. 3 Chevrolet car and a second place finish for the No. 4 Chevrolet car.  Competitors of the overall yearly DEKRA Green Award will have to work hard to overcome the points gained by the Corvette Racing Team during the Rolex 24.

The DEKRA Green Award scoring system takes into account oil usage, greenhouse gas emissions, speed and weight of the car and energy consumption.  The goal of the DEKRA Green Award is to create a race series with the smallest environmental impact in the world!

The winner of the DEKRA Green Award is determined through Green Racing protocols established by the United States Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Society of Automotive Engineers International as part of an overarching strategic alliance with the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA).
