HSR Porsche IROC/RS Cup announced

Historic Sportscar Racing officials along with F1 and sportscar veteran Jochen Mass announced today a new series which will feature the iconic racecars of the famed Porsche IROC series.

The "Classic RS Cup" will be featured at five of HSR's 2016 events, debuting at Virginia International Raceway for the WISKO Grand Prix on Memorial Day weekend. May 26-29. The Classic RS Cup will then be featured at the Atlanta Fall Historics on Sept. 15-18 followed by the Savannah Speed Classic (Oct. 27-30) and the Daytona Historics (Nov. 10-13). The series champion will be crowned at the Sebring Historics (Dec. 1-4).

"This group of Porsches has been such a huge part of HSR for the last 20 years and to finally get their own series is going to be exciting for the driver's and the teams," said HSR President David Hinton.
