F1: Mexican GP unveils innovative ticketing program

Mexican Grand Prix organizers have announced a unique ticketing system for the 2016 race, with the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez being divided into different 'zones' reflecting different aspects of fan interest.

The zones are designed to target 'Euphoric Fans' (who will be in the baseball stadium section of the track and close to the podium); 'True Racers' (located around the more technical Turn 4-6 complex); 'Speed Lovers' (situated near the high-speed sections on the straights) and 'VIP Party Racers', which will have a view of pitlane and the start/finish area. Each zone will also feature tailored entertainment and refreshment options.

Tickets are on sale now via Formula1.com.

"The return of Formula 1 to our country was deemed a huge success within the international F1 community," said Rodrigo Sanchez, director of marketing for the Mexican Grand Prix.

"The Mexican fans showed new levels of passion and excitement that has not been seen in F1 for a long time, and the country truly embraced the championship in a very unique and typically Mexican way. We want to make sure that we provide international fans with a safe and reliable option to purchase their tickets, [and] the Formula1.com website is a the perfect platform for this."

More than 336,000 fans attended last year's race at the newly-renovated venue. It was the first Formula 1 race in Mexico since 1992.
